Sue Pandasandwich is not on holiday anymore.
That's it for another year. Thanks for all the lovely feedback and comments. I'm sorry I couldn't use any of them, but children read this blog.

START OF HOLIDAY 7: London
Have a couple of days to kill before going back to work, so I'm doing this new Air BnB thing that everyone's into these days. So I'm in a posh flat in trendy SE London. It's a bit disappointing to be honest, as you can see...
START OF HOLIDAY 6: Paris
Paris! City of a million salads, as they say. Just a quick holiday, this one, twenty minutes for moules-frites on the Bois Du Boulogne, then the supertrain to London.
I decided not to take the Mickey. I left it there!

END OF HOLIDAY 5
Leaving Arles train station, just after dawn (she had already left). As I schlepped my bags across town the actors touchingly continued their pretence, sweeping streets and lifting cafe shutters, setting out chairs and tables. Obviously as soon as I leave they'll close down the set and mothball it all until next year. This does all exist just for me, right?

Hotel
Same one as last year http://suepandasandwich.blogspot.fr/2013/08/weird-hotel-room-1.html
http://suepandasandwich.blogspot.fr/2013/08/weird-hotel-room-3.html
Etc
Everything in this room invites a fondle. I burnt my finger on one of the bulbs.

Chicken Chasseur D'images
So far:
Vik Muniz: good.
Walther Collection: good but dry.
W.M.Hunt: good.
Masaccio and Drowilal: ok
Sfr group show young photographers award thingy: rubbish.
David Bailey: rubbish
In the Walther Collection show, a small child ran over my foot on her bike. You don't get that kind of detail in The Guardian.

START OF HOLIDAY 5: Arles Photo Festival
Train to Arles. Loud old man attempting to flirt with four giggling teenage Canadians. Awful. French woman eventually told him to shut up. Satisfying. Straight to hotel, then to billeterie. NUS discount 6 euros! Now the festival can start.

START OF HOLIDAY 4: Toulouse again
Tram from Toulouse to Beauzelle, 10pm. Four young women board in fancy dress. Three are clad immaculately as the Pink Ladies from Grease, the fourth as a pirate. The quartet rehearses a song from the film, which they appear to be intending to perform later in the evening. Is it the pirate who has missed something, or me?
END OF HOLIDAY 3
Bade farewell to Manuel and Ethel at the station. Two finer hosts in this gorgeous city one could not find. Train to Toulouse. Somehow first class was cheaper when I booked, so here I am. Unfortunately, my socialist and environmental principles don't actually allow me to enjoy the experience, but I can report that the seats are huge, comfortable, and there's loads of legroom. I even have a solo window seat, the best way to travel short of teleportation. Lovely. But vive la revolution, obviously.
Gigi's birthday
At my friend Gigi Clée's surprise birthday party. Sixty-three, but doesn't look it. Drunk wine out of pointy jug thing. Below you can see Des Einflaws trying it out. He will probably be as horrified as I am by the terrible bokeh on this Sony lens. I hope he doesn't mind the photo. Gigi had a very good time and was touched by the surprise festivities.
